Eyes
It is said that the eyes are the mirror of the soul and there is a lot of truth in it. Your eyes are the doorway to your heart, they reflect your emotions and your inner being. A lot can be concluded from the expression in your eyes without the need for words.
If you would like beautiful, magnetising eyes with no effort whatsoever, I can create anything from subtle lash enhancements to perfectly defined eyeliner treatments. I can give you a perfect classic pencil look, a liquid liner with a perfect flick, or a sultry smoky eye. You could even try something more elaborate with two-toned eyeliner or ‘butterfly’ shading! However subtle or dramatic, an eye treatment can transform your morning routine – just get up and go!
Permanent Eyeliner
There are three stages to an eyeliner treatment – usually completed within two appointments.
Consultation
This is normally carried out on your initial meeting with me but can be done prior should you wish. Together we will discuss your needs, your preferences and my recommendations to get the best possible look for you. I will then draw the eyeliner on with a makeup pencil, making as many adjustments as necessary until you are completely happy with how the tattoo is going to look.
Permanent Makeup Application
Using a specialist facial tattooing machine, which operates at a much lower frequency than a standard body tattooing machine, pigment is gently applied to the skin using very fine micro needles. Depending on the type of eyeliner required, I will begin with a lash enhancing tattoo and gradually build up to either a subtle liner or dramatic latino eyeliner. I will echo the natural eye colour on the lower lash which has a beautiful effect of ‘popping’ the eye colour and looks extremely natural.
The sensation is that of an electric toothbrush being held to the skin. There is only slight discomfort and some clients have even dozed off during the process! Should you require breaks, you only have to say! The process takes approximately 1hr, sometimes a little more, sometimes little less depending on personal requirements. Immediately after treatment your eyeliner will look 30-40% darker than the chosen colour, this is due to the residue on skin surface and will lighten and soften within 3-5 days.
Retouch
A follow up appointment is necessary after 4-6 weeks of your first treatment.
This is usually a 30-60 minute appointment and enables me to assess healing and to perfect your eyeliner. During the healing process, sometimes some areas may not hold as well as others and require additional pigment or slight variance in colour. this is totally normal and I would always advise you to come back to clinic for your retouch.
Frequanty Asked Questions
Before the treatment
Q. Will I need to remove my eye makeup for the treatment?
A. It is required that eye make-up is removed for any eye treatment. However, please wear your usual make-up for the appointment, or even better, bring a photo, so I can see your style.
Q. Should I bring my favourite eyeliner pencil?
A. If you have a particular colour tone of eyeliner pencil that you would like to be replicated, please bring it with you to the treatment. This will enable me to custom blend an appropriate permanent cosmetics pigment.
Q. I’ve had my lashes tinted / permed, can I still have an eye treatment?
A. Any eyelash tinting or perming should be carried out no sooner than one week before, or two weeks after, the treatment.
The treatment
Q. My eyes are sensitive. I’m worried about blinking and my eyes watering during the treatment. Is that a problem?
A. This is a normal concern for first time clients and nothing to worry about. I have had a great deal of experience in tattooing eyes and know exactly how to hold the eyes whilst I am working on them,
Q. Will my eyes swell a lot after the treatment?
A. Swelling is relatively minimal and usually occurs for up to 12 to 24 hours after the treatment. Ice packs can be used to minimise this.
Q. Will I need someone to drive me home after having an eye treatment?
A. It’s possible that your eyes could be a little watery after the treatment. As a precaution, we recommend that anyone having an eye treatment should ensure that they have someone to drive them home.
After the treatment
Q. Will my eyeliner look very dark after the treatment?
A. You should be prepared for the colour intensity to be significantly sharper and darker immediately after the treatment. This will subside and become lighter as the skin heals. This process can take up to 10 days.
Q. Can I apply mascara after the treatment?
A. You should wait until the treatment area has healed before applying make-up. If you have had an eye treatment, a new mascara is
recommended.
